Welding Alloys’ solution
- WA has developed special alloys for the steel industry especially for rolls involved in the continuous casting process, which need to withstand high-temperature wear, corrosion and oxidisation as well as thermal fatigue
- WA’s R&D team has developed procedures using our in-house facilities, and with close links to the research facilities at Cambridge University, we are permanently researching new products and monitoring roll performance data
- WA can carry out the cladding operation on new or worn components in both our Integra Service Centres or on-site
- The failure mechanism of materials within these harsh environments have been investigated to enable a thorough understanding for the development of advanced new solutions
- In cooperation with equipment manufacturers, our metallurgists have created products for many cladding applications in the steel industry to extend the service life of components
Benefits
Outstanding improvement in roll life compared with other existing materials and processes. Maximise plant availability and reduce costs.
Consistency and customer service
Our Integra engineers and technicians work to stringent quality and manufacturing procedures, set out within the WAG to ensure all new and refurbished components give an extended service life. Our metallurgists work in collaboration with equipment manufacturers to guarantee satisfaction.
