Hi there! My name is Fiona and I recently joined Welding Alloys (in late April) in the role of Group CFO. I am based in the Singapore office and am originally from Australia. I joined Welding Alloys after a brief sabbatical following my previous role as I wanted some time out to travel and explore – particularly South America - which is an amazing part of the world.
Last May, Welding Alloys Italiana participated in two important events in Italia:

In the early 1980s, stainless steel flux cored arc welding wires became very popular. These wires contained small additions of bismuth (Bi), often in the form of bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) to improve slag removal and help the welder. This is still common practice today, including for TETRA wires.
Chile is the largest copper producer and one of the main mining countries in the world. The mine is where you can see the greatest effects of abrasion since there is a considerable amount of movement of raw material, and the high volume and hardness causes equipment to wear, most notably equipment used for loading, transport, crushing, among others. As maintenance costs are becoming higher for hard rocks and downtime increases, those in the mining industry are constantly looking for better solutions.
Preparations are well underway for the Schweissen & Schneiden International Trade Fair for Joining, Cutting & Surfacing, being held in Dusseldorf from the 25th – 29th of September 2017. Welding Alloys Group will be located in hall 11, booth C24.
After several months’ work, we are very excited to announce the launch of our new website with a fresh new look and user-friendly navigation!
