Third party approval

Many of our products are used in areas where safety is critical: shipbuilding, construction, railways, pressure vessels, power stations etc.  For such applications, users require a guarantee of conformity to established property standards, so that they can use our products without fear of weld failure.

This guarantee is provided through approval by third party inspection societies such as Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas, TÜV etc, who set the necessary standards for each product type.  Approval is granted only after thorough product testing in the presence of expert inspectors, and a certificate is issued stating that the product meets all the requirements and testing criteria.  Approvals are renewed regularly, usually yearly, with further testing.

Some large customers (e.g. SNCF) have their own inspection service and grant accreditations and product approvals to suppliers based upon their own criteria.
