Due to the planned retirement of the current Managing Director of WA Italia, Adelio Cordari, we are looking for someone that can continue to shape and develop our Italian entity, ensuring the business is effective and profitable and that WAG goals are achieved.  The job holder will be capable of identifying strategic projects for WA Italia and for their successful implementation.  They will also lead, manage and develop all employees within WA Italia as well as leading and developing commercial/sales activities.  There is also a requirement to bring a personal contribution to sales and business development.

The candidate will initially be part of the special welding materials sales division and will report directly to the Regional Director of Europe.  After a period of training, the candidate will assume the position of Managing Director and General Manager of WA Italiana.

 

 

Key Attributes:

  • The role will require an element of travel sometimes at short notice. Travel may include visiting customers, other Welding Alloys locations as well as other meetings and fairs as required.
  • Excellent spoken and written Italian is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Good English language, both spoken and written essential – other languages an advantage – particularly French
  • Organizational and planning skills, bargaining skills and a strong focus on achieving objectives complete the profile.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall performance of the entity, which will include overseeing the company’s financial, commercial and technical performance. The role includes full P&L responsibility.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • To manage and build on existing customer relationships as well as identifying and forming new customer relationships which will include key customer visits.
  • Monitor and drive sales activities and business performance across the whole team to ensure that actual sales meet or exceed established targets, which will include sales with existing and new customers as well as developing sales across all industry sectors within the WAG portfolio.
  • Management of a Team of 5-6 workers and a Turnover of 3-4 mil€,

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required:

  • Degree or recognised qualification in welding engineering, metallurgy or previous relevant experience gained in commercial/sales areas within the welding industry.
  • Professional experience gained in sales of materials / services in the welding maintenance and / or production sector. Ability to interpret technical drawings in the industrial field.
  • Good knowledge of welding and the WA portfolio would be an advantage.
  • Excellent IT, budget and report writing skills.
