Tools, dies and related equipment are typically used at very high utilisation rates and the corresponding demand for availability is therefore also high. Regular maintenance, or even replacement due to wear, reduces utilisation and availability which impacts negatively on production. Under certain circumstances, a second or third set of the same equipment is required  to be available, increasing capital expenditure.

Forging and stamping tools operate under high wear conditions resulting from elevated temperatures, frequent metal-to-metal contact, impact, thermal expansion and contraction and in certain cases corrosion, all which impact adversely on tool life.

Through refurbishment by means of weld repair, our customers can reduce, or eliminate the high replacement cost associated with forging and stamping tools and extend the total life of tools far beyond the original lifespan of the design.
