This summer, more than 40 engineers from 13 different sugar mills located in 6 different countries gathered together in Escuintla, Guatemala to discuss the latest advances in extending the life
of sugar maces.
The seminar included real-world experiences and presentations by Pablo De Leon from Ingenio Magdalena, Jose Ramos from Ingenio Central Izalco and David Oseida from Ingenio San Diego. Amongst the most popular presentations were “The Importance of shielding the maces prior to starting the harvest season”, “The Importance of a good program for applying hardacing during the harvest season”, “Fabrication of other parts that wear in the Sugar Mill” and “New Hardfacing Alloys for the Sugar Industry”. Overall, the seminar was of great value to all participants and they are all are looking forward to the next seminar to continue sharing their individual experiences and challenges, in order to maximise the life of their machinery.
Congratulations to all the personnel from Welding Alloys Reptec for hosting another successful Sugar Seminar.
