Recently, the US sales team and machines technical support team from France delivered and installed a new Roll Cladder machine for a customer. The latest machine sold is a D3 R3000 single-station twin-head Roll Cladder.
This is the second Welding Alloys Roll Cladder machine the customer has purchased. The first order was a D2 R3000 twin-station twin-head that was sold / installed back at the start of 2010. At that time, the customer was new to performing refurbishment and wear protection overlays via welding for continuous caster and hot strip mill process rolls used within the steel production process. As a result of the customer’s long-term focus and dedication, as well as the close long-term technical support provided by Welding Alloys, the customer has been able to establish and grow their business while providing their steel mill clients roll refurbishment and service life performance improvements, which either meet or (in most cases) exceed their clients’ expectations.
Their existing D2 machine is still running at full operation, and because of the customer’s success, and therefore growth, they required additional capacity to be able to continue meeting the requirements of their ever-growing customer and application base. In both 2010 and 2023, the customer also evaluated and considered other non-Welding Alloys solutions. However, in both cases, the customer recognised the benefits and advantages of working with Welding Alloys rather than another supplier. Even though in both instances (while being competitive) Welding Alloys was not the cheaper option, the long-term value of the investment in Welding Alloys’ full package solution (Industry / application specific welding consumables, automated application specific yet customisable welding machines, and unrivalled hands-on technical support) drastically outweighed the upfront savings our customer would have made by opting for an alternative solution.
News of the addition has spread quickly within the North American steel mill market. The customer has already experienced an increase in inquiries and business now that the new machine is installed and running production.
