Welding Alloys Group Acquires Premier Technical in Growth Move

Fowlmere, UK – Welding Alloys, a global leader in the manufacture and supply of welding consumables and equipment, has announced the acquisition of Premier Technical Ltd (“Premtech”), a leading manufacturer and supplier of wear-resistant products in Rotherham, UK.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Welding Alloys’ growth strategy, as it expands its footprint in the UK market and enhances its product portfolio with Premtech’s specialised wear-resistant solutions, particularly in the field of continuous casting roll repairs.

This strategic deal meets the Group’s investment criteria and brings together two complementary businesses, creating a stronger and more diverse offering for customers.  The acquisition is expected to provide significant, long-term synergies and benefits for both companies. By combining expertise, Welding Alloys and Premtech will be able to offer an extended range of wear-resistant solutions to customers in various industries, including mining, cement, power generation, and steelmaking.

Moreover, being located in Rotherham, UK, will provide Welding Alloys Group with easy access to Premtech’s manufacturing facilities and skilled workforce. Rotherham is a renowned industrial hub, with a long-standing history of innovation and excellence in manufacturing. This strategic location will allow Welding Alloys to further optimise its supply chain, reduce lead times, and improve customer service.

“We are delighted to welcome our Premtech colleagues into the Welding Alloys family,” said Dominic Stekly, Welding Alloys Group Chief Executive. “This acquisition will enable us to accelerate our growth in the UK market and expand our product portfolio, while offering our customers the best possible solutions to their wear-related challenges. We look forward to working with the Premtech team and leveraging their expertise to drive innovation and growth.”

Andy Hyde, Premtech’s Managing Director added, “We are excited to be joining forces with Welding Alloys and become part of a larger, global organisation. Our customers will benefit from access to Welding Alloys’ extensive network and resources, while our employees will have more opportunities to develop their skills and expertise.
