Working like a well-oiled machine

The machines department has had a busy start to 2017, in March the sales teams for machines and wires took part in SIFER 2017 (International Trade Fair for the Railway Industry) in Lille, France.
Bringing together the main French and European players in the sector, this event was an excellent opportunity for Welding Alloys to present its wires dedicated to the refurbishment of the rails (Hardface APRail, Hardface 19-9-6, etc.), as well as its newest machine, the FTR – Frog Top Rail. This welding machine, produced in accordance with railway maintenance companies’ specifications, allows the automatic recharging of rails by open-arc welding. It is designed for top of rail applications as well as the refurbishment of railway switches (FROG).
The exhibition enabled us to consolidate relationships with existing customers and to meet various prospects interested in our machines. Also of interest to those visiting us at the exhibition was our new portable wire reel, the TOPCASE 425-4, whose prototype was exhibited on the stand!

Also, in May, the first welding machines sales seminar took place at the machines business unit in Colmar. More than 20 participants from Europe, Africa and the Middle East became familiar with the new range of machines as well as the deployment strategy of the BU and the new organisation.

This seminar included theoretical sessions with detailed presentations of the equipment, the advantages compared to competitors, the arguments to be highlighted for the customers etc., followed by practical sessions in the workshop with welding demonstrations.

Following this seminar, we received numerous requests for consultation and also a few orders.
We will organise in the coming weeks another seminar dedicated to the Americas and Asia. We hope that it will be met with the same success and continue to increase our machine sales.
