Between 31st January 2018 to 10th February 2018, Welding Alloys (Far East) Sdn. Bhd. (WAFE) Integra™ Service team successfully performed in situ hardfacing services for the world’s largest FLSmidth Raw Mill OK54-6 in PT Semen Padang Indonesia, which is also the oldest cement plant in Indonesia (established 1910).
The project was awarded to WAFE Integra™ Services after a competitive bidding process. The project management team was led by Marc Landragin, with technical support provided by Barry Prout. WAFE were also supported by Les Whitmore for technical support of the machines and our local distributor, Mr. Febrinansyah of PT Metrindo Primatama. We deposited more than 13 tons of hardfacing wires with the help of 10 Welding Alloys Multisurfacer™ automatic welding machines, all within the agreed timeframe.
The strong teamwork among all stakeholders ensured the smooth execution of the project, resulting in a customer who was very satisfied with the Integra™ Services solution provided. Following this, after two months in operation, the FLSmidth OK54-6’s wear rate measurement showed good results, as per the customer’s requirements / target, which will be the benchmark for others to match.
