Welding Alloys is a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact. We have made the commitment to the core principles laid out in the compact, focusing on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. In response to principles 8 and 9:
- Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
- Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies
Welding Alloys has developed a more environmentally friendly range for some of our best selling wires, Robodur K.
The Robodur K series of wires are produced using copper plating, which requires the use of copper sulphate and sulphuric acid. Both of which have a negative impact on working conditions and subsequently, the recycling of copper plating baths poses significant risks to the environment.
Without compromising the high quality and outstanding features of the ROBODUR K wire series, Welding Alloys has been able to develop the new range ROBODUR F, using a more environmentally friendly production process.
ROBODUR F is made of a unique copper free coating which means it generates less harmful waste during production, a significant bonus for the workers. It also reduces the risk posed on the environment in regards to recycling the materials used in production.
Currently, we have developed 2 ROBODUR K equivalent wires within the ROBODUR F range and will continue to further develop the whole range.
Check out some of the main benefits:
- Tubular wire
- Abrasion/shock resistance
- Excellent weldability
- Identical welding parameters to ROBODUR K range
