Welding Alloys and 3DGBIRE Strengthen Additive Manufacturing Collaboration

Welding Alloys is strengthening its position in advanced manufacturing through its collaboration with 3DGBIRE, supporting wire-based laser cladding and additive manufacturing applications with high-performance consumables.

By supplying its range of laser cladding wires, Welding Alloys supports 3DGBIRE in delivering consistent, high-quality results, helping customers improve component performance, reduce downtime, and extend service life.

A key advantage of Welding Alloys’ consumables is not only their proven performance, but their availability and reliability. Customers benefit from short lead times through global production and distribution, readily available stock to reduce downtime risk, consistent quality, and engineered materials designed for demanding environments.

This ensures partners such as 3DGBIRE can operate efficiently, maintaining productivity and meeting project timelines without supply chain constraints.

Adam Nichols, Account Manager & Meltio Commercial Lead at 3DGBIRE, commented:

“Working with Stewart and the team at Welding Alloys has allowed us and our customers to maximise the Meltio technology by further reducing costs while increasing part quality thanks to their wires which has led customers to make savings of 80-90% over traditional methods.

Meltio can produce parts in up to 4 different metals; the wide range of wires offered by Welding Alloys has unlocked many applications.”

Stewart Powlesland, Technical Sales Engineer at Welding Alloys, added:

“Our focus is not only on delivering high-performance consumables, but also on ensuring our customers and partners can access them quickly and reliably. Supporting companies like 3DGBIRE demonstrates how our materials can enable efficient, scalable additive manufacturing in real-world applications.”

The collaboration is further reinforced through Welding Alloys’ partnership with Meltio, where it acts as an official materials partner.

With 3DGBIRE also working closely with Meltio systems, this creates a fully aligned ecosystem combining advanced technology, high-quality consumables, and application expertise.

Together, these partnerships enable customers to adopt additive manufacturing with greater confidence, reducing lead times, extending component life, and lowering total cost of ownership.

Welding Alloys continues to work closely with partners to ensure its consumables deliver not only technical performance, but also the availability and reliability required to support the industrial needs.
